While artificial intelligence, such as the now-infamous Chat GPT, has become the most significant invention of 2023, we might as well find out what the AI has to say about Week 1 of the National Football League. By utilizing OpenAI’s premium GPT-4 model, I asked what its favorite pick is to win, least favorite pick to win, and the “riskiest pick” of the first week. This is what I found out:
Favorite Pick – Kansas City Chiefs over Detroit Lions
Chat GPT is going all-chips-in on the Kansas City Chiefs to defeat the Lions in the NFL opener this Thursday. The main reason for this is that “The Chiefs have been one of the strongest teams in the NFL in recent years, boasting a potent offense led by Patrick Mahomes. The Lions, on the other hand, have been rebuilding and typically have not been as strong.” The Artificial Intelligence also gave two points with every pick, stating that the Chiefs are coming off a red-hot season with a Super Bowl victory, yet the Lions are looking to take advantage of the rebuild within the past years.
Riskiest Pick – San Francisco 49ers over Pittsburgh Steelers
Chat GPT was very adamant that this will be one of the toughest games in the current slate. “Both teams have strong defenses and have been competitive in recent years. This could be a close, hard-fought game.” With Kenny Pickett now having a full season of NFL experience, the home crowd may prove to be too much for the visitors. With the many dramatics that have taken place over this past offseason, not to mention Trey Lance’s recent departure to Dallas, both the AI and I agree that this 49ers team may not mentally be at the top of their game. This matchup is 100% going to be a battle, and it will be must-see TV.
Least Favorite Pick – New England Patriots over Philadelphia Eagles
This one doesn’t need any artificial intelligence to figure out the most likely outcome. While the game will be played in Gilette Stadium, the Eagles are one of the hottest teams in football, and could very well be hungrier than last season for a Super Bowl Ring. GPT says, “The Patriots have been rebuilding after Tom Brady’s departure and have had some inconsistency.” Jalen Hurts has been a top three quarterback in the league since the beginning of last season, and with new additions to the offense, like runningback tandem Deandre Swift and Rashaad Penny, the air attack and ground game are only going to get better. In the end, AI believes that the Patriots just don’t have enough manpower to stop the sleeping giant that is the Philadelphia Eagles.
Looking forward, Chat GPT has officially taken the Kansas City Chiefs as their week 1 pick to start off the season-long Survivor pool. To keep up to date with the AI’s pick of the week, and to see how long it’ll stay in the race, check https://survivorsweat.com/ for more
